Lal Bagh
- Lal Bagh is a botanical garden, commissioned by the Hyder Ali in 1760. The 240-acre (0.97 km2)
park is home to over 1000 species of flora and a Glass

one of the towers erected by the founder of Bangalore, Kempe Gowda
I. The Lal Bagh Rock, dates back to 3000 million years, is another
attraction.

was created in 1884, by Major General Richard Sankey. The park is

Fort originally built by Kempe Gowda in 1537 A
D. It is located next to the Victoria Hospital Gate in
the K.R Market area.
- It was a stronghold of Tipu Sultan that was captured by the army of the British East India
Company led by Lord Cornwallis on 21 March 1791 during the Third Mysore War (1790–1792).
- Only the Delhi gate of the fort presently exists on Krishnarajendra
Road bearing a marble plaque recording the spot where a breach in the fort
wall delivered Bangalore Fort to the British.
- There also exists a wooden palace of
Tipu sultan, and his armory in the old fort area. The fort has
provided the setting for the treasure hunt in the book Riddle of the
Seventh Stone.

1791, is a two-storied ornate wooden structure with exquisitely carved
pillars, arches and balconies. It houses a museum that

The trek up Kodachadri is
challenging, but rappel down its perpendicular slope on the western side for
the ultimate thrill. Heighten the thrill meter by taking the dicey mud track
that passes through a dense jungle and leads to Agastya Thirtha, a rivulet that
runs a little below the summit. But ensure you trek to this rivulet in broad
daylight or you may lose your way. Laden with sunset spots, trek trails, lakes
and mountains is Agumbe, the Cheerapunji of Karnataka.

the easier paths, and graduate to trek 60-km from Navoor to Kudremukh, via
Hevala. This five-day journey is filled with excitement, what with animals like
gaurs, bonnet macaques, sambars and languor giving your cameras those prized
poses. If you wish to trek in Kudremukh between October and May, ensure you
visit the Hanumana Gundi falls. Reaching this falls is no joke. Trek through
